Placeholders
Placeholders are variables that BarcodeOCR replaces with a current value when it saves a file, for example the date or a counter. This lets you add information to file names that is not contained in the barcode.
Where you can use placeholders
You enter placeholders in the Naming and sorting step:
- Add to the file name as a prefix and Add to the file name as a suffix: the text you enter, including placeholders, is added in front of or behind the file name. Example: a timestamp in front of every file name, so that the files are sorted chronologically in File Explorer.
- Replacing text in the output file name: a string in the barcode is replaced with a placeholder or another string. Add each replacement with Add to list.
